Cultivating Regenerative Futures: CLIC RECYCLE at the World Living Soils Forum

10/10/2024

At CLIC RECYCLE®, we are deeply committed to regenerating soils as the foundation of resilient and regenerative futures. We were honoured to be invited as a startup to the World Living Soils Forum (WLSF), held on October 8–9, 2024, in Arles, France, co-organized by Moët Hennessy and ChangeNOW.

The World Living Soils Forum, created in 2022, convened farmers, scientists, NGOs, policymakers, startups, and industry leaders from around the world to address the urgent challenge of soil regeneration. In its second edition, the Forum gathered 600 participants across three continents (France, the USA, and China), with 70 sessions and over 180 speakers, presenting concrete solutions to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture.

Why Living Soils Matter

Soil health is a global issue with enormous impact. Today, 40% of the world's soils are degraded, threatening biodiversity, food security, and climate resilience. Healthy soils store twice as much carbon as the atmosphere, host 50% of terrestrial biodiversity, and can retain up to 20 times more water when rich in organic matter. Restoring soils could also sequester 3 gigatons of CO₂ annually by 2030, making regeneration one of the most powerful levers against climate change.

The World Living Soils Forum made it clear: regenerative agriculture goes beyond sustainability. Practices like cover cropping, agroforestry, ecological corridors, and forest regeneration strengthen ecosystems, improve resilience to extreme weather events, and safeguard pollinators and water cycles. Farmers remain at the heart of this transition, but collective action—including new financing models, transparent certification, and shared knowledge—is essential to enable their journey.

Presenting CLIC TERRA: Our Biodegradable Mulch Crop Cover

At the Forum, we were proud to present CLIC TERRA, our patented biodegradable mulch crop cover. Engineered to replace conventional plastic mulches, CLIC TERRA helps retain moisture, regenerate soils, and reduce the need for harmful plastics—all while leaving no toxic trace.

This innovation reflects our mission at CLIC RECYCLE®: transforming waste into circular solutions that restore ecosystems and protect natural resources.

A Movement Beyond the Forum

The World Living Soils Forum was more than a conference—it was a call to action. From agronomists and educators to businesses and institutions, all participants emphasized that soil regeneration must become a global priority. Education, innovation, public-private collaboration, and consumer awareness are the keys to accelerating this transition.

We were delighted to reconnect with this movement again when we were exhibiting at the ChangeNOW 2025 Summit in Paris, where the WLSF Soil Hub created a dedicated space to share solutions in regenerative viticulture and soil preservation.

Looking Ahead

CLIC RECYCLE® is proud to have contributed to this global dialogue and to be part of a collective effort to protect and regenerate soils. The World Living Soils Forum has shown that technical solutions already exist, but scaling them requires collaboration, cross-industry partnerships, and systemic change.

We thank the World Living Soils Forum Moët Hennessy and ChangeNOW for convening such an impactful gathering. Protecting soil health is not just an environmental necessity—it is a societal responsibility. Together, we can ensure living soils remain the foundation of thriving ecosystems, resilient agriculture, and sustainable communities for generations to come.
